Dr. Charlie Coffey comes to us after retiring from Medical Physics (clinical service and teaching) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center for 22 years and the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky for 18 years. Medical Physics! He only has a few degrees to his name – a Ph.D. from Purdue University, W. Lafayette, IN, an M.S. from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, and a B.S. from The University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY. Charlie (as he much prefers over his title “Dr. Coffey”) is originally from Liberty, Kentucky, and continues to work along side his brother, David, in the caretaking of the family farm and garden there. He and David have been raising large quantities of Fall butternut squash for the past three years. He has even been dubbed “The Squash Guy” by local restaurants in the Nashville area!
Charlie has shown Cul2vate the true heart of a servant by tirelessly planning, acquiring seeds, planting, harvesting, and maintaining our outdoor gardens. We are truly blessed to have his expertise on our farm! Charlie will be mentoring and teaching our Cul2vators in the art of seed selection, planting, harvesting, and maintenance. He is glad to be a vital part of the Cul2vate Team.
