Dr. Charles ‘Charlie’ Coffey was born and raised in a small farming community near Liberty, Kentucky. He attended the University of Kentucky and Purdue University.
Charlie completed a 40-year career in clinical radiotherapy medical physics in September, 2015. He worked in the Departments of Radiation Oncology at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, in Lexington, Kentucky and Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. In addition to his clinical medical physics duties, Charlie also served as medical physics instructor in Graduate Medical Physics Education Programs at both the University of Kentucky and Vanderbilt University.
Today, Charlie serves as an active board member and volunteers his time at Cul2vate as agricultural advisor. He is also an active member of Brentwood Baptist Church in Brentwood. Charlie and his wife, Susan, reside in Brentwood, Tennessee, and have two children, Morgan and Ellen, and three grandchildren, Jackson, Keller, and Charlotte.
