Empowering through Community Gardens

Something relatively new here at Cul2vate is that we now sponsor community gardens. Each fall, we accept applications and review potential partners. If approved, we will set up, help plant, maintain, and offer training to partner volunteers and organizations to grow, tend to, and harvest their own fresh, nutritious vegetables right on their own site.

One of these wonderful partners is 147 Team. 147 Team is a local nonprofit working hard to provide critical needs to show the love of Christ to vulnerable children right here in Middle Tennessee. 147 Team empowers these children who are falling through the cracks of our system to find their greatness within.

147 Team recently posted to their social media, and their story is so very worth sharing! They said, “We harvested lettuce, kale, & spinach to make take home salads for our Broken Table Families at our event tonight. We are so thankful for <Cul2vate> for helping us plant a garden so we can grow sustainable food for our families. Also shout out to <Young Men’s Service League Nashville> for the volunteers to help with the kiddos tonight so that the moms could enjoy fellowship time together and grow as a community and in their faith.”

THIS is what happens when community is fostered around food and Christ. THIS is what happens when ministries work together to do better for those we serve. THIS is Kingdom work being done. Right here. Right now.
