“Cul2vate has been a huge blessing in my life. I started volunteering at Cul2vate in the fall of 2016 after walking by the farm with my husband. I had been praying for a place to do some volunteer gardening near my house when I stumbled upon Cul2vate, just a mile and a half from my house. My husband and I were greeted my Matt who proceeded to tell us all about the mission of Cul2vate. My husband and I began volunteering shortly there after.

From my first day volunteering until now, I have always been welcomed with open arms and greeted with a smile whether I plan in advance to volunteer or just show up on the farm.

By volunteering regularly throughout 2017 I was able to build relationships with the Cul2vators. It has been a blessing to hear their stories and to get to share some of mine whether we’re planting, pruning, harvesting or even weeding. One of my favorite memories was when we were weeding around the potatoes and one cul2vator pulled 3×5 index cards of scripture out of his pocket. Another cul2vator, without hesitation, began to help him practice his memory verses. It was such a blessing to hear the truth of scripture spoken out loud while working, but also to see them encouraging each other. I was so impacted by that day that I now carry a 3×5 card of scripture in my pocket each day I go to work. It has been a huge blessing in my life to know others and to be known while helping at Cul2vate. I initially went because I love to garden and work with my hands, but I keep going back because of the relationships that I’ve built.”
