Real Food Feeds Real Families
For the past few months, our team has been working on a special project, and we’re excited to share it with you! Cul2vate Real Food Boxes conveniently deliver nutritious food to children and families. This project was born out of a desire to get wholesome meals directly into the hands of those who need them most.
Real Food Provides Real Nutrition
Each box includes a Second Harvest Nourish box, Cul2vate produce, and meat from Green Farms and other pork producers, designed to help people prepare healthy, balanced meals at home. Families can create 25 meals with a variety of nutrient-rich foods, including 6 pounds of produce, 2 pounds of beef, 2 pounds of pork, and shelf-stable items such as rice and pasta. The program emphasizes nutrient-dense, minimally processed foods that support overall health and wellness while increasing access to quality nutrition for everyone, no matter the background.
Real Food Reaches Real Places
Our Harvest & Distribution Team, along with volunteers, has been working tirelessly to pack and deliver boxes. In just four weeks, we have distributed boxes to juvenile justice centers, transitional homes for youth in foster care, subsidized housing, family resource centers, and more.
Church of the City has a program called Wrap-Around that provides resources for foster-care families. We value the incredible partnership we have with them, appreciate having a garden in connection with the church, and are so excited to provide these Real Food Boxes to their foster families! The stories of gratitude and hope warm our hearts.

Real Food Ignites Real Change
These boxes give families not only an opportunity to access healthy meals, but also moments to bond as they prepare easy recipes and fellowship over food. Real Food Boxes include nutrition information, allowing parents to teach their children about balanced meals and then enjoy one together.
When delivering in Hickman County, recipients shared how grateful they were to have dinner that night because of the food we provided. Meeting immediate needs brings peace and joy to our neighbors, and we feel deeply blessed to serve in this way. These boxes are doing more than providing food; they are offering hope, community, and stability.
According to Feeding America, 1 in 6 people face hunger in the state of Tennessee. Even people with full-time jobs are struggling to make ends meet, choosing between getting medicine and a meal or groceries and paying rent. Alleviating the stress that comes from not knowing where your next meal will come from allows children to focus at school, families to enjoy time together, and parents to have peace of mind.
