Cul2vate, CVS Health, and Aetna Are Meeting Neighbors’ Needs

In 2025, CVS Health and Aetna invested in our Roots and Roofs Initiative, which connects affordable, stable housing with food security and workforce development.
This year, a team from CVS came to Nashville to impact our Cul2vators and the greater community. Emily and Annabel from CVS, along with volunteers, assembled wellness and hygiene baskets for our Cul2vators. As they work on themselves and rebuild their lives at Cul2vate, meeting some of their physical needs was such a blessing.

The team was thoughtful from start to finish; the baskets were rolling laundry baskets that our Cul2vators could use afterward. Each one contained blankets, laundry detergent, toothbrushes & toothpaste, soap, lotion, deodorant, and more! Each basket also included a card and a Walmart gift card so they could get other items they may need.

Spending the morning packing baskets and meeting the CVS team, then seeing the Cul2vators’ faces when they received their gifts was truly heartwarming. Our Cul2vators were excited and thankful to receive the much-needed supplies. The thoughtful gifts saved them a trip to the store and allowed them to stock up their homes.

The next day, we arrived at 101 Factory, an affordable housing complex in Nashville. They receive our Real Food Boxes every week, and that day we set up a pop-up market for the residents. Our market was stocked with Cul2vate produce, flowers, and jams, all free or discounted for residents. And some CVS/Aetna goodies for everyone to enjoy.

Kids created flower bouquets for parents and teachers, families chose fresh produce for dinner, and residents told us how excited they were that we brought the market to them

CVS/Aetna’s investment allows us to curate fun and helpful events like these, meeting our neighbors’ needs where they are. Thank you to the team for planning and executing this amazing two-day event.
