What truth about God have you discovered here that has been especially encouraging to you while volunteering with Cul2vate?

I have learned that no matter how old you are, how long you have been a Christian, I have the need to grow in faith. And I didn’t know when I came here, that this place… again, I just thought I was coming here to serve, and what I didn’t understand is that this place would help me get through the hardest years I’ve ever had in my life. The people have supported me in prayer, in community and faith, and I could not have made it through without my relationship to God and with the help of these people.

What have you learned about yourself while volunteering with Cul2vate?

I have learned that if I push aside my own ego and desires, that God will lead me in the direction that I need to go. And I thought when I came here, I was bringing a blessing to Cul2vate. And I realized that Cul2vate has brought the blessing to me when I needed it.

What would you say to others to encourage them to become involved in Cul2vate?

Oh, come, come and volunteer. This place, it’s just…miracles happen here. And working in the store, I’ve met so many wonderful people. I’ve gotten to know people in the neighborhood. We have people that walk in from other states and other countries, and it’s so fun talking to everyone and sharing the mission of Cul2vate. The farm store is a happy place, people are happy to buy fresh vegetables, but when they find out about the mission of Cul2vate, then they’re even happier to support what we do here on the farm.
